The Thinker, 2026

Steel and network cable
53 × 30 × 38 in.

A life-size Thinker built from the physical infrastructure of contemporary thought.

Constructed by hand from steel and network cable, The Thinker is the fourth life-size figure in McMahon's ongoing cable series, and the first male.

Network cable is part of the physical infrastructure through which contemporary information travels, and the work enters the world at a moment of heightened tension around the relationship between humans and technology.
