Street art project started in 2013 in Florence, Italy, as a way to interact with my neighborhood at the time. I wanted to bring some light and color to the streets. The swarms are installed on metal doors, lamp posts, and window frames and take on a life of their own as people move them – some are taken home, some are placed in other parts of the city. Butterflies mean different things to different people. I like to think that small things can have ripple effects beyond what we see or know. The swarms are unexpected color made with the hope of shining some light through the cracks. Street art project started in 2013 in Florence, Italy, as a way to interact with my neighborhood at the time. I wanted to bring some light and color to the streets. The swarms are installed on metal doors, lamp posts, and window frames and take on a life of their own as people move them – some are taken home, some are placed in other parts of the city. Butterflies mean different things to different people. I like to think that small things can have ripple effects beyond what we see or know. The swarms are unexpected color made with the hope of shining some light through the cracks.
